Privacy Policy – Genova IPTV

Introduction
Genova IPTV ("Genova", "the app") is published by Main Thread Apps ("we," "our," or "us"), a French single-shareholder simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle, SASU) with a share capital of €1, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register (RCS Paris 130 860 935), whose registered office is at 8 Bis Rue Abel, 75012 Paris, France. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who receives it, how long it is kept, and what rights you have when you use the Genova IPTV application.
By using Genova IPTV, you acknowledge this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored on Your Device
- IPTV Source Information: Xtream Codes credentials and M3U/M3U8 playlist URLs you add are stored locally on your device, encrypted. They are never transmitted to us.
- Preferences & Settings: Your app preferences, theme selections, playback settings, favorites and watch progress are stored locally.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
The app sends a limited amount of technical data to our service providers (see section 4):
- Usage Analytics: Which features are used and how (for example, that a playback started or a screen was opened). Events carry bounded values such as a stream type, never the title, URL or credentials of the content you watch.
- Crash Reports and Diagnostics: Error reports and diagnostic information used to identify and fix bugs.
- Performance Data: App startup and responsiveness measurements.
- Device Information: Platform, OS version, device model and app version, and a pseudonymous identifier generated by the app for each installation.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Streaming Content: We do not collect, store, or monitor the content you stream through Genova IPTV.
- IPTV Service Credentials and URLs: They stay on your device.
- Account Data: Genova has no account system. We do not ask for your name, e-mail address or phone number.
- Advertising: Genova contains no advertising and does not use your data for advertising or sale.
2. Why We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage on Your Device
Your IPTV sources, playlists, favorites and settings are stored locally on your device. We have no access to them, and you can remove them at any time by deleting a source in the app or uninstalling it.
4. Recipients and Service Providers
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data.
- Service Providers: To operate analytics, crash reporting and performance monitoring, we use Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring, provided by Google Ireland Limited) and PostHog (product analytics). They process data on our behalf and are bound by data processing terms.
- Distribution Platforms: Google Play and the Apple App Store process the data they collect when you download or update the app, under their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
International Transfers
Our PostHog analytics data is hosted in the European Union. Some other providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, the transfer relies on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. Retention
Analytics, crash and performance data are kept for 30 days at most, then deleted. Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the app. E-mails you send us are kept for the time needed to answer you.
6. Data Security
We implement security measures appropriate to the data we handle:
- Encryption in transit: Data sent to our service providers uses TLS.
- Local encryption: Sensitive data stored on your device is encrypted.
- Access controls: Access to analytics data is limited to the people who need it.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Erase your data;
- Restrict or object to its processing, including analytics based on our legitimate interest;
- Data portability, where it applies.
To exercise these rights, write to contact@mainthreadapps.com. We answer within one month. Because the data we hold is pseudonymous, we may ask you for the installation identifier or other information needed to locate it.
You can also turn off usage analytics, crash reports and performance measurements at any time in the app, under Settings > About > Share usage and crash data. They are on by default, and switching this off stops them being sent.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country of residence.
Please do not post requests, credentials or provider details in public forums such as GitHub Discussions.
8. Children's Privacy
Genova IPTV is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party IPTV Services
Important: Genova IPTV is a player only. We do not provide IPTV services or content. When you use Genova with third-party IPTV sources:
- We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party IPTV providers.
- We do not monitor, store, or access the content you stream.
- Your use of third-party IPTV services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have legal access to the content you stream.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page;
- Updating the "Last Updated" date;
- Notifying you via the app, for material changes.

12. Compliance
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with:
- GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and the French Loi Informatique et Libertés;

- Other applicable data protection laws.
